Cookie policy
This site sets no cookies. Seven items of browser storage exist: an analytics choice, two that hold a part-finished quote enquiry in the tab you are typing it in, two display preferences and two markers that stop the home page repeating itself. This page lists all seven.

This site sets no cookies.
That is the whole of the short version, and it is unusual enough to be worth saying plainly rather than burying under a category list. There is no advertising, no cross-site measurement and no cookie banner in the usual sense — the banner on this site asks one question, about analytics, and stores the answer on your own device.
What the site does use is browser storage, which is a different mechanism with a different privacy profile: it stays on your device and is not attached to requests the way a cookie is. Seven items exist. This is all of them.
What is stored on your device
| Name | Store | What it holds | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
seimora-consent | Local storage | granted or denied — your answer to the analytics banner, so it does not ask again | Until you clear site data for this domain |
seimora.rfq.draft | Session storage | A part-finished quote enquiry: the answers you have typed so far — which practices you need, your company, your name, your email address, your phone number if you gave one, the project's location, type and stage, your description of the job, and anything else the form asked that you had answered — plus which step you had reached | This browser tab only. Cleared when the tab closes, when the enquiry is sent, or when you choose "Start again instead" |
seimora.rfq.uploads | Session storage | For each file you are part-way through uploading: its filename, its size, its last-modified date, and the identifier of the unfinished upload — so that reloading does not restart a large file from zero | This browser tab only. Cleared when the tab closes; each file's entry is removed when that upload finishes, fails or is cancelled |
seimora.space | Local storage | paper or model: the drawing space you chose with the Paper and Model control, light or dark. Nothing is stored until you choose one, and while nothing is stored the site follows your system's light or dark setting | Until you clear site data for this domain, or choose "Follow system setting", which removes it |
seimora.units | Local storage | si or imperial: the units you chose for dimensions and weights. Nothing is stored until you choose; until then the site shows imperial units if your browser's language is US English, and SI otherwise | Until you clear site data for this domain |
seimora.hero | Session storage | 1: a marker that the home page has already been loaded in this tab, so its opening animation does not play again each time you return to it | This browser tab only. Cleared when the tab closes |
seimora.exit-slip | Session storage | A marker that the short "Before you go" note has already been shown in this tab, so it is shown at most once. Written only if the note appears | This browser tab only. Cleared when the tab closes |
That is the complete list. If a later version of this site stores anything else, this table is what has to change with it — a test in the codebase fails the build when a storage key exists that this page does not name.
The consent choice
The value is granted or denied, it is written only when you answer the
banner, and it is never transmitted anywhere — the site reads it in your
browser to decide whether to load an analytics script.
The part-finished enquiry, and why it is deliberate
The quote intake asks a lot of questions, and losing the answers to an accidental refresh is a real way to lose an afternoon. So the answers are saved as you go and offered back to you if the page reloads. That is a convenience, and it is named here rather than left implied, because the saved copy contains your contact details and a description of a project that may not be public.
Two things about it are choices rather than accidents:
- Session storage, not local storage. Session storage belongs to the one browser tab and is discarded when that tab closes. Local storage would leave an unannounced project sitting on a shared or borrowed machine indefinitely.
- Answers only. The saved draft never contains the confidentiality acknowledgement, an upload token or an enquiry reference. Those are keys rather than answers, and a key left in browser storage is a key that anything running in the page can read.
The saved copy is not sent anywhere. What reaches us is what you submit, when you press send — and once it is sent, the draft is deleted.
The unfinished uploads
If you attach a model or a drawing set, the upload is resumable, and resuming after a reload means the browser has to recognise the file you pick again. It does that by remembering the filename, size and last-modified date of each file still in flight, against the identifier of its unfinished upload. The file's contents are never stored here; a browser cannot hold on to a file for you, which is why resuming asks you to choose the same file again.
The display preferences and the two markers
seimora.space and seimora.units remember how you asked the site to be
drawn, so the next page, and the next visit, arrive in the same space and
the same units instead of switching after they load. seimora.hero and
seimora.exit-slip stop the home page repeating itself within one tab.
None of the four contains anything that identifies you, and none is sent
anywhere: the site reads them in your browser to decide how to draw the
page.
Clearing any of it
Closing the tab removes the four items in session storage:
seimora.rfq.draft, seimora.rfq.uploads, seimora.hero and
seimora.exit-slip. Clearing site data for this domain in your browser
removes all seven. That includes seimora-consent, which brings the
analytics banner back on your next visit, and the two display preferences,
after which the site follows your system's light or dark setting again and
picks units from your browser's language.
You do not have to clear site data to change the analytics answer. The panel
at the end of this page shows the choice currently stored on this browser and
withdraws it in one press, which removes seimora-consent and brings the
banner back so you can answer again. Withdrawing is not the same as
declining: declining is an answer and stops the banner asking, while
withdrawing returns you to having given no answer at all.
If you accept analytics
The analytics this site is built to use is cookie-less: it measures page views in aggregate without storing anything on your device and without an identifier that follows you between sites. If you decline, no analytics script is requested at all.
Third-party content
This site embeds no third-party video, map, font or social widget. Typefaces are served from this site's own origin rather than from a font provider, so loading a page makes no request to another company's servers.
No analytics choice is stored on this browser. The banner at the foot of the page is asking for one.
