Energy and renewables
Substation structures, module and plant support steel and balance-of-plant structures, usually galvanised, usually remote, usually in quantity.

Energy sites concentrate two things that are unusual elsewhere: very high repetition, and an environment that will take the steel apart if the corrosion protection is wrong. A module support repeated ten thousand times rewards an hour spent on the connection detail more than any other sector, and a coating specification written for a temperate site and applied to a coastal one fails early and visibly.
Repetition is an opportunity and a risk
The same detail many times over means an error in it is systemic. It also means a first-article check is cheap relative to the run: one assembly fabricated, measured and approved before the rest is released. Where a job allows it, that check is worth scheduling into the release rather than hoping the first delivery is the one that gets inspected properly.
Galvanising changes the detail
Hot-dip galvanising imposes bath size, vent and drain holes, distortion control on long slender members, and its own handling damage. Those are detailing decisions, not finishing decisions, and they are taken before the drawings are issued rather than discovered at the plant.
Freight is part of the engineering
Remote sites and long hauls make load planning a design input. Piece length, nesting for transport and delivery sequence are agreed early.

The pages that carry this work
Not all of them. These are the ones that decide how a job in this sector turns out.
Structural engineering
Steel & fabrication engineering
Steel detailing
Shop drawings, erection drawings, CNC files, bolt lists and advance bills of material, produced from a model the shop can build from without interpreting it.Fabrication coordination
Release packages by lot or erection sequence, the inspection and test plan issued with them, and a production status record reconciled against the release.
Construction coordination and project controls

Send the scope
A model, a drawing set or a written description. The specification and the required-on-site date tell us more than the size of the job does.
